Sarah Montgomery is an artist, maker and designer living in Chicago.
She always wanted to be an adult so that she could have her own house to decorate.
4-H during childhood and a weaving class in high school led her to study Fibers at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Missing the Midwest, but already nostalgic for the South, she moved to Madison, WI, to be a display coordinator for the store, Anthropologie. From tiny embroideries and detailed textile renderings to large-scale window and interior displays, Sarah enjoys the whole design process and getting dirty along the way. She likes things sophisticated with a little grit, humor and graphic.
She has had successful ventures in retail, commercial and residential spaces as well as theater. She thrives on being resourceful and conquering new materials and techniques. She would rather draw with a needle and thread than pen or pencil and enjoys watching cats jack-rabbit inanimate objects.
